2010 Post-Season Wrap Up

Post-Season 2010-Only one team beat the seeding this year and that was Irondequoit, who as #5 beat McQuaid (#4), then Canandaigua (#1) and finally Thomas (#2) to take their first Class B championship since 2007. Full Story

D&C Announces 2010 All-Greater Rochester Team

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2010 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team today. The list features the top sixteen players and another sixty-four honorable mentions were led by Fairport senior attackman, Brendan Saylor who was named "Player of the Year". Full Story

Senior All Star Game: One Final High School Game

The Herb Fitch Lacrosse Senior All Star Game finished with the White team defeating the Blue team 15-12. The game culminated with the naming of the offensive and defensive MVPs. Full Story

Thursday - Long Island and Central Top Day One

The first day of the 2010 Empire State Games closed with Central and Long Island holding the top spots. Central (2-0) and Long Island (2-0) were both undefeated in the first two rounds of round robin play. Full Story

Friday - Central over Long Island in OT

The second day of the 2010 Empire State Games closed with Central holding the top Spot. Central (4-0) is the only remaining undefeated team after four games in round robin play. Full Story

Saturday - A Shorter Day - Setting up For the Medals

With the Medal Games already decided, the games on Saturday were necessary to ensure that each team played all of their competition, but they were unnecessary in determining who would play on Sunday. Full Story

Sunday - Long Island - Five in a Row

Adirondack looked stronger today than yesterday in their game against Western who stepped up the challenge of playing ADK back-to-back and defeated them for the second time in 24 hours, 13-7. Full Story

2010 Empire State Games Wrap up

After a one year absence, the Empire State Games were back and Buffalo, where they had not hosted the games since 2003 put on a great show, starting with opening ceremonies with Third Eye Blind and terrific fireworks and ending with the not so unusual crowning of Long Island as Lacrosse Champs. The Central Region took the Silver medals and Western earned the bronze in 2010. Full Story

(July, 2010) - It's the 31st edition of the Empire State Games, and there is great excitement after a one year hiatus, as the games return, this year, in Buffalo. Six thousand athletes from the six regions will compete in the olympic style games. Full Story
