# 3522 McQuaid Wins State Title DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were two games played on the last game of the season and at stake were NYS Championships. McQuaid Jesuit was an 8-7 overtime winner over Farmingdale (Section VIII). South Side (Section VIII) defeated Victor, also in overtime by a score of 12-11. FARMINGDALE-7 at MCQUAID JESUIT-8 in overtime in a NYS Championship game - After winning their first Sectional Title and entering their first NYS Championship, the Knights were considered by many as the underdogs to Farmingdale of Section VII who boast some exceptional individual players. McQuaid scored the first two goals as AJ Quagrello scored on passes from Jon Harding and Liam Palmer. Senior attackman Caden Lennon who is headed to Bryant next year scored for the Dalers and the first quarter ended at 2-1. Star attackman, Brendan O`Keefe (Albany) had a big second quarter, scoring two unassisted goals and assisting on another. As the score went back and forth, McQuaid saw two goals from Vincenzo Giangreco (one with an assist from John Harding). The half ended in a 4-4 tie. The Third quarter saw two unanswered goals from McQuaid, the first by Eoin Meyer from Harding on a feed to the crease, and the second on a bull dodge by JP Gianforti. After three quarters McQuaid led 6-4.
After shots by O`Keefe (one wide and one big save by Gordon), McQuaid moved the ball down field and with 0:27 left in overtime, sophomore face off midfielder Domenic Giangreco scored the game-winner to give the Knights their first State Championship. Scoring for McQuaid were John Harding (3a), Giangreco (3g), AJ Quagrello (2g), Will DiMarco (1g), Eoin Meyer (1g), JP Gianforti (1g). Will Gordon in the cage 12/7ga. (unofficial). [ BOX SCORE] SOUTH SIDE-12 at VICTOR-11 in overtime in a NYS Championship game - The Victor Blue Devils, who after the third quarter, held a 9-5 lead over South Side (Section VIII), saw a determined Cyclone offense score five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter and eventually tying at 11-11 sending the game into overtime. There, in the first minute, Cole DiPietro scored the winning goal on a feed from Liam Livingston to end the game and disappoint the Blue Devils for the second year in a row. Victor took an early lead up 4-2 at the end of the first quarter on two goals by Tanner Radogna and two from Jack Herendeen. Brody Secker scored the first of his three goals at the top of the second and twenty seconds later Matt Langan score the first of his two goals on a feed from Aiden Clinkscales who ended the game with (1g-2a). South Side ended the scoring for the half with Victor up 6-3. Still in control, eighth grader Eli Ricci won his faceoff and raced to the goal at the start of the third quarter and then after a very quiet period Secker scored again taking the score to 8-3. Shortly thereafter, Cullen Lynch scored two in a row, including one from behind his back and 15 yards off the crease. Clinkscales received a cross field pass from Herendeen to end the third quarter with the blue Devils up 9-5.

Others scoring for Victor (17-3) were Jack Herendeen (4a), Christian Besaw (4g), Jackson Mead (4g), Brody Secker (3g-1a), Tanner Radogna (1g-1a), and Dante Pezzimenti (1a). Facing off for Victor was junior JT Ricci with 10+/2- = 83%, and 8th grade Eli Ricci with 8+/0- = 100%. In the goal for Victor was senior Parker Erwin with 3s/2ga = 60% (36 mins), and junior Landon Tantillo with 4s/0ga = 100% (7 mins). Scoring one goal each for Niagara-Wheatfield were senior attackmen Matthew Siejka and Dakota Ferguson, junior midfielder Savino Geracci and Freshman Rahihtehawihs Printup. # 3511 Victor Takes Class B with 9-6 Win *+Victor defeated Irondequoit 9-6 tonight in the Class B Championship to win their tenth Title and second in a row. The game was close for the first half,
In the second quarter, each team added one goal. Victor took another lead with the first goal in man-up. Christian Besaw scored the first of his 2g-1a with a feed from Aiden Clinkscales only 0:32 into the quarter. The majority of the quarter was back and forth with both teams having a chance at the cage and both defenses standing strong. Irondequoit's goal was scored with 0:08 remaining on the clock. Carrier scored his third goal with another unassisted goal. This time with a straight drive at the goal from the top. The score remained tied (4-4) going into halftime.
Irondequoit attempted a comeback with back-to-back scoring. Cooper Moore scored the first goal and then turned around to assist the second (Oliver Grisdale scoring). However, it was not enough and Victor`s Herendeen tacked on to more goals to close out the game and send Victor to the State Tournament. Additional players named to the All-Tournament Team included Drew Williamee (Canandaigua), Zachary Ajauananda (Spencerport), Cam Miller (Irondequoit), Cooper Moore (Irondequoit), Cam Ryan (Victor) and Brody Secker (Victor). |
# 3506 Victor Downs Spencerport for Trip to the Finals Victor defeated Spencerport 10-4 to advance to the Championship game on Tuesday. The Blue Devils scored the first four goals of the game and never looked back. Although the Rangers pressed hard to finish the third, the Blue Devils were able to score the final three goals and secure the win. Leading in scoring for the Blue was senior Jack Herendeen with 2g-4a. Junior Brody Secker finished with 2g-2a and both Jackson Mead and Aiden Clinkscales finished with 2g. For the Rangers Zach Tortoara finished with 2g to lead his team. In the cage for Spencerport, senior Taylor Kaye finished with 13 saves. |

Scoring for Greece Storm (8-9) were Andrew Hill (1g-1a), and Carter Fabian (1g) CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-1 at VICTOR-16 - Ten different players scored goals for Victor (14-3) including senior attackman Jack Herendeen (2g-3a), 8th grade face off midfielder Eli Ricci (3g-2a), freshman attackman Jackson Mead (2g-2a), and senior midfielder Aiden Clinkscales (2g). Facing off for Victor was junior JT Ricci with 5+/3- = 63% and he reached his 100th career faceoff win in the game. Eighth grade midfielder Eli Ricci won 6+/0- = 100%. THOMAS-8 at IRONDEQUOIT-9 in overtime - As one would expect, senior midfielder Jonah Carrier scored the overtime game-winner at 2:43 in the first overtime period. Thomas tied the game in man-up with 3:44 left in regulation and the Titans gain control of the ball first in the overtime period. Irondequoit goalie Sven Habitzreuther mad a point-blank save and cleared the ball eventually to Carrier. Scoring for Irondequoit (14-3) were Cooper Moore (4g), Carrier (3g), and Dylan Carey (2g).
