DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Friday's standout performances came from Penfield's Brodie Joyce, who broke the program's all-time career assist record (108) in an 11-7 OP at Penfwin over Orchard Park, and Geneva's Ryland and Jack Dunham, who each reached 50 career assists in the same game while combining for 10 goals in a 16-1 win over Essex. Batavia-Notre Dame picked up its first win of the season with an 18-3 victory over Gananda behind five goals from Trey Rodriguez and four each from Harold Mellander and Nolan Radley, while CNS handed Schroeder an 11-4 loss behind three goals from Adrian Sweeney. Mynderse-Romulus continued its strong stretch with a 9-4 win at Waterloo, with Hunter Kurdziolek posting five goals for the second straight game.

ORCHARD PARK-7 at PENFIELD-11 - Penfield picked up an 11-7 non-league win over Orchard Park on Friday evening at home, rallying from a 4-4 tie after two quarters with six straight goals in the third to take control. Senior Brodie Joyce broke the Penfield program's all-time career assist record during the game, surpassing the mark held by Tucker Nelson from the class of 2010.

For Penfield (5-3), Joyce led with four goals and two assists, while junior Harrison Easton added three goals and junior Jake Maurer contributed two goals and one assist. Sophomore Ewan McCormick and junior Cole Bellerose each added one goal. Senior Colin Miller went 16-for-18 at the faceoff dot (89%). Senior Mason Schembri stopped nine shots for a 56% save percentage in 48 minutes.

GANANDA-3 at BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-18 - Batavia-Notre Dame picked up its first win of the season with an 18-3 non-league victory over Gananda on Friday evening at VanDetta Stadium, scoring four goals in the first quarter and eight more in the third to pull away. Seven different players scored for the Irish, who also earned their first win in five meetings against Gananda.

For Batavia-Notre Dame (1-1), junior Trey Rodriguez led with five goals and one assist, OP at Penfwhile senior Harold Mellander and junior Nolan Radley each added four goals and one assist. Junior Aiden Kopper contributed one goal and four assists, and sophomore Cullam Finn chipped in two goals. Freshman Axel Pietrzykowski scored his first varsity goal.

For Gananda (0-5), sophomore Cameron Richards led with two goals and one assist, while eighth-grader Dante Viavattene scored his first varsity goal. SCHROEDER-4 at CNS-11 - CNS picked up an 11-4 non-league win over Schroeder on Friday evening, building a 7-1 halftime lead and holding the Warriors to three goals over the final two quarters. The win gives CNS a 2-0 all-time record against Schroeder.

For Schroeder (2-7), Owen Martin, Brady Mason, Kai Nelson, and JD Stockmann each scored one goal and added one assist. Junior John Caricati went nine-for-16 at the faceoff dot (56%). Junior Van Bolton stopped 14 shots for a 56% save percentage in 48 minutes.

ESSEX-1 at GENEVA-16 - Geneva stayed unbeaten with a 16-1 non-league win over Essex on Friday evening at home, scoring five goals in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout. The win also featured a pair of career assist milestones and several first varsity points.

For OP at PenfGeneva (5-0), senior Ryland Dunham and junior Jack Dunham each led with five goals and two assists, with both reaching 50 career varsity assists in the same game, pushing their totals to 51 each. Eighth-grader Dominic Gaglianese added three goals and two assists. Senior Kaden Larsen and junior Kyler Russ each scored their first varsity goals, while Gaglianese, seventh-grader Nick Mateo Jr, and sophomore Santiago Mendoza each recorded their first varsity assists. Mateo Jr went 11-for-17 at the faceoff dot (65%). Junior Owen Marquart stopped five shots for an 83% save percentage in goal.

MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-9 at WATERLOO-4 - Mynderse-Romulus OP at Penfpicked up a 9-4 tournament win at Waterloo on Friday evening, scoring four goals in the second quarter to build a lead it would not relinquish. The win improves Mynderse-Romulus to 2-2 on the season.

For Mynderse-Romulus (2-2), junior Hunter Kurdziolek led with five goals and one assist, while senior Trace Parish added two goals and three assists. Sophomore Owen Levis contributed one goal and one assist, and freshman Tyne VanEvery added one goal.

For Waterloo (0-4), sophomore Kayden Zona and senior Kyle Shangraw each scored two goals.
