Rochester D&C Lists Top Players for 2012
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2012 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team today. The list features the top sixteen players and another seventy-four honorable mentions were led by Fairport senior goalie, Blaze Rioden who was named "Player of the Year".

Thursday: Fairport Remains Undefeated at 16-0
Fairport took a 7-1 lead on their way to a 8-5 win over visiting Irondequoit to preserve their perfect regular season (16-0). Victor defeated Pittsford 13-12, Penfield beat Orchard Park 13-8, Newark beat B-H, Arc/Oly took out Eastridge 9-6 and Aquinas beat Canisius 4-3.

Saturday: Fairport over C-C, Thomas takes Webster Win
It was a beautiful day for lacrosse and six games were played. Most of the games were overmatches, with the closest game being Marcus Whitman over Wayne 8-4.

Thursday: Pittsford over McQuaid 7-6
There were 16 games in the Section today. Several were close and a number were not. Pittsford beat a determined McQuaid Jesuit 7-6. Waterloo beat Wayne 3-1.

Saturday: Fairport over JD in last Seconds
In one of the six intersectional games today, Fairport scored the winning goal in the last few seconds of the game to defeat Jamesville-DeWitt 11-10 at Hobart College. Pittsford hosted Section VI powerhouse, Orchard Park and came away with a 15-6.

Tuesday: Fairport, PY Still Undefeated - Pittsford Wins in OT
Pittsford dodged the bullet this afternoon with an double overtime win against a determined Webster Thomas. Fairport and Penn Yan, the only undefeated teams left in the Section won their games.

Wednesday: Livonia beat McQuaid in Overtime
Senior attackman Wyatt Struble scored the game winner in overtime to give Livonia a 12-11 win over McQuaid Jesuit in GRALL action tonight. Churchville-Chili beat Brockport 8-1 and East Rochester was a 19-4 winner over visiting Batavia.

Friday: East Rochester over Kearney in OT
East Rochester won a 10-9 victory in their overtime game with Bishop Kearney. It was the only game played on Friday.

Monday: Back from Vacation
Vacation is over and two games were played today to start off a week that includes 44 games. Eastridge beat Brockport 13-6 and East Rochester beat Wayne 6-4.

Thursday: Fairport, Waterloo and Victor Win
Victor, Fairport and Waterloo were winners on Thursday. Fairport won a 13-2 victory over visiting Webster Thomas. Waterloo took East Rochester 12-9 and Victor beat Spencerport 14-8.

Saturday: Irondequoit Over Duxbury 4-3
Irondequoit traveled to Massachusetts and brought home a 4-3 win against the Duxbury Dragons. Penn Yan overcame a 4-0 first quarter deficit and scored twelve unanswered goals starting in the second quarter in their 12-4 defeat over Geneva.

Wednesday: McQuaid, ER and Lightning Win
On a normally "off-day" three games were played in Section Five. East Rochester had the closest game, as the tied Akron at the half 5-5 and when on to at 10-8 win. Both McQuaid and Greece Arc/Oly (Lightning) had big, lopsided wins.

Monday: East Rochester over Newark
There was a single game played in the Section under sunny but cold weather. In a game that was close throughout, East Rochester defeated Newark 7-5.

Monday: The Tournaments Begin with Out bracket Games
The 2011 Section Five Tournaments are now underway with twelve out bracket games played today. There were two upsets in the seeding as, in Class A, #9 Greece Thunder beat #8 Greece Lightning 11-9. In Class C, #9 Mynderse won a 15-13 victory over #8 Marcus Whitman.

Thursday: Pittsford remains Undefeated
Pittsford's 10-1 win against Spencerport gave the Panthers an unusual perfect regular season, finishing at 16-0. A number of games were canceled due to thunder storms in the area, but more of the late games were played. Rush-Henrietta had an exciting 4-3 overtime win against Livonia. Schroeder beat HF-L 11-9 and Brighton had an exciting one goal win against Thomas.

Tuesday: Pittsford Remains Undefeated
It was a long awaited match up and at the last moment, moved from Pittsford Mendon to St. John Fisher College, where the stands were nearly full. The Panthers scored five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter for secure a 9-4 win over Fairport.

It was a tough day for several teams that played out-of-section games today as Penn Yan lost a close one to Clarence, Hamburg beat Thomas and Aquinas lost a close one to Timon.

Tuesday: Penfield beats Irondequoit, Brighton in OT
Irondequoit was beaten tonight in a close and exciting game. Mike Larkin scored the game winning goal with 2:25 remaining. Although another large number of games were canceled due to weather/field conditions, seven other games were played.

Monday: Livonia and East Rochester Win
Under heavy rains throughout most of the Section Livonia pounded Bishop Kearney 23-1 and East Rochester beat Gananda 19-7. The Rush-Henrietta at Hilton game was canceled.

Thursday: It is Cold out There and AQ beats Thomas
Aquinas and Webster Thomas played a close game, with the Little Irish winning 8-7 at McAvoy Park. Pittsford beat Penfield 12-2, Geneva beat Marcus Whitman (13-3) and East Rochester was a 21-3 winner over Bishop Kearney.

here were thirteen games today in Section Five and a large number of games were lop-sided. Winners by big margin included Fairport, Pittsford, Penfield, Penn Yan, Geneva and Pal-Mac.
