A goal scored in the second quarter made the difference as Webster Thomas beat visiting Penn Yan 6-5 this afternoon. Spencerport beat Brighton by a goal as well.

There were some interesting scores today. The three highest scoring games were played today, as Medina beat Batavia 23-11 (34 pts), Victor beat Corning 16-15 (31 pts) and Spencerport beat Williamsville North 16-14 (30 pts).

On the last game day of the spring break there were only two games played/ Pal-Mac traveled to Wayne, where they struggled in the first half, but took control in the second to secure a 10-6 win.

Tuesday: Victor Takes Irondequoit, Fairport Defeats Penfield
Finally, there were a number of close games played in the section today. Victor held off a last minute attack by Irondequoit to hold on to a 7-6 win. Hilton beat the Lightning 8-6, McQuaid came back hard to beat Livonia 14-13 in overtime.

A dozen games were played today. Three games were won by one goal, but most games were mismatches again today. In a "Storm game", Greece Ath/Ody (Thunder)beat Greece Arc/Oly (Lightning) 7-6.

Tuesday: Irondequoit takes Corning, Gananda over Waterloo
Twelve of the sixteen games played on Tuesday were mismatches in which the winning teams outscored their opponents by 184-49. Irondequoit beat visiting Corning 13-8. Gananda beat Waterloo 8-7 and Hilton was a 10-7 winner over Greece Lightning.

There were 12 games played on Saturday and the vast majority were mismatches. Gananda and Waterloo, however, played a close one which saw the Blue Panthers winning 9-8.

The All Star list is out recognizing the Finger Lakes players for the 2013 season. Junior attackman, Ben Reeves from Pal-Mac was, for the secnd year in a row, selected as Finger Lakes "Player of the Year".

Thursday: Canandaigua over Penfield, Pittsford over Irondequoit
There were nine games played in the section today. Canandaigua scored five goals late in their game to defeat Penfield 7-5. Head Coach Andrew Whipple was the "Whipple-Winner" as Pittsford defeated his brother's team from Irondequoit 7-2.

Thursday: Fairport Remains Undefeated at 16-0
Fairport took a 7-1 lead on their way to a 8-5 win over visiting Irondequoit to preserve their perfect regular season (16-0). Victor defeated Pittsford 13-12, Penfield beat Orchard Park 13-8, Newark beat B-H, Arc/Oly took out Eastridge 9-6 and Aquinas beat Canisius 4-3.

Tuesday: Fairport Tops Pittsford 9-1
The surprise results of the night was Fairport's dramatic win against Pittsford as the Raiders won 9-1. In other parts of the Section, Pal-Mac's Ben Reeves and Spencerport's Matt Kaser both broke the 100 point mark for the season.

It was a beautiful day for lacrosse and six games were played. Most of the games were overmatches, with the closest game being Marcus Whitman over Wayne 8-4.

In a game that went right to last minute, Irondequoit defeated Pittsford 7-6. Fairport won a 5-2 victory over visiting Penn Yan. Thomas beat Brighton 8-6 and HF-L took at 9-8 win from Webster Schroeder. Penfield won their game with Canandaigua 10-6.

Tuesday: Schroeder gives Penn Yan a Scare
Five games were postponed but ten games were played. Schroeder led for most of the game, but Penn Yan came back for an 8-5 win on the road. Bloomfield-Honeoye scored two goals in the last quarter to beat Wayne Central 5-3. Midlakes defeated Batavia 11-10.

Saturday: Fairport over JD in last Seconds
In one of the six intersectional games today, Fairport scored the winning goal in the last few seconds of the game to defeat Jamesville-DeWitt 11-10 at Hobart College. Pittsford hosted Section VI powerhouse, Orchard Park and came away with a 15-6.

Wayne Central won their first varsity game today when they beat Midlakes 7-6. Canandaigua won in overtime against Victor. It was Eastridge over Greece Lightning 11-8, Geneva over Waterloo 6-2, Mynderse over Newark 10-7 and Gananda over the Pride 8-7.

On a very rainy day there were fourteen games played. Ithaca (Section IV) broke three tied quarters to beat visiting Irondequoit 11-8. With 1:24 remaining in the first overtime period, Aaron Buck scored during a double man-up opportunity to secure a 13-12 win for the Churchville-Chili over Spencerport.

Eleven games were played on Tuesday Spencerport and Hilt played to a tie nine times before Ben Tribunella scored on an assist by Seth Miller to give the Rangers a 12-11 victory.

Wayne 9 - Gananda 6
Gananda led 6-3 going into halftime but then was held scoreless for the next twenty-four minutes. Wayne scored six goals in the second half and defeated the Blue Panthers 9-6. Wayne had eight different players make their scorebook.

Wayne Over Waterloo
Although Waterloo scored the first goal, Wayne fought back and led the entire second half in their 8-3 victory. The turning point for the Eagles came in the last 2:20 of the second quarter. They scored three goals in less than two minutes to take the game from a close 3-2 to a controlling 6-2 going into the half. Nic Martin, Jack Camp and on Ecker each added a goal for Wayne.

Wayne 8 - Gates Chili 7 in Double Overtime
Senior attackman Tim Oddi won the game for Wayne in the second overtime period as the Eagles posted an 8-7 win over visiting Gates Chili. The Spartans open the game outscoring Wayne 4-2 in the first quarter, although the Eagles scored the first goal of the game when Andrew Jenkins took a pass from Tim Oddi at 10:57.

HFL 9 - Wayne 8 in Overtime
Freshman attackman Evan Kelly scored the game winning goal with 1:16 remaining in the first overtime period to give HF-L their 9-8 win over Wayne. The Cougars held off a late push by the Eagles with senior midfielder Ryan Kelly scoring the tying goal to send the game into overtime. The game was back and forth with both teams leading during the contest. Wayne scored the opening goal during man-up with Andrew Jenkins assisting Tim Oddi. Six minutes later HF-L scored their opening goal (also during man-up). Ryan Kelly scored with an assist from Tim Breau. Each team added another goal in the opening quarter and the first quarter ended with the score tied at 2-2.

Wayne scored three of their last four goals in their 10-7 win over Geneva. The Eagles started the game off strong with a four goal run spanning the end of the first and beginning of the second quarters. Wayne scored four straight goals, including two during a non-releasable man-up, to take at 4-1 lead halfway through the second quarter.

Wayne scored five of the first six goals and held off a late push by Geneva to defeat the Panthers 9-8. The Panthers scored the first goal with Kyle Cosentino scoring unassisted. Four minutes later Wayne scored their first goal. Jon Ecker assisted Jake Moss with 5:13 remaining in the opening quarter.

This week Fairport has two players who have been an important part of their success. Goalie Joey Scalise and scoring phnom Cam Gebhardt are honored this week. Penn Yan senior attackman Bradley Voigt and Aquinas defenseman Liam Smith are also honored for their key support of their teams.

Spencerport 11 - Wayne 8 in Quarters
Spencerport never trailed in their 11-8 win over Wayne. The Rangers were only the second lower seed of the tournament to defeat a higher seed. The Ranger`s Kasey Olsen scored the first goal of the game after receiving a pass from behind the cage from Colin McElligott. Olsen finished at 5g-1a for the Rangers.

The All Star list is out recognizing the Finger Lakes players for the 2014 season. Junior attackman, Ben Reeves from Pal-Mac was, for the third year in a row, selected as Finger Lakes "Player of the Year". The "Midfielder of the Year" wasEddie Eddington from Geneva. The "Defenseman of the Year" was Dylan Joy from Gananda and Pal-Mac Head Coach Joe Hill was named Coach of the Year. Matt Morrin was named Assistant Coach of the Year and Tom Palmer from Gananda was named Man of the Year. Eddie Eddington was named a USLacrosse All American and Ben Reeves was named a USLacrosse Academic All American by the Section Five Coaches.
