# 3964  Grey Wolves Triumph in Thrilling Comeback

Canandaigua pulled off a dramatic fourth-quarter rally to dethrone two-time defending champion Victor, securing an 11-10 victory in the Sectional Finals. Despite trailing for most of the game, the Braves exploded with four unanswered goals in the final frame to take the lead, led by Senior Mike Belles (4g), who earned Class B All Tournament MVP honors. Ryan Bremer (3g-1a) and Drew Williamee (1g-1a) added key offensive contributions, while goalie Quentin Shedrick anchored the defense with eight saves. Victor’s Kyle Seager (4g) and Brody Secker (2g-2a) led their team’s effort, but a late push fell just short. With the win, Canandaigua returns to the State Tournament for the first time in four years and will face Lake Shore (Section VI) in their next matchup. In total, multiple games were played tonight across classifications, but this battle stood out as the closest and most intense matchup.

# 3958  Drew Williamee Takes CA to Finals

Canandaigua won 12-11 in overtime against Irondequoit in the Class B semifinals. Drew Williamee led with three goals and two assists, including the game-winner, while Patrick Olvany and Jack Stanney each scored three times. Junior goalie Quentin Shedrick entered late in the third quarter and made eight saves, shutting out Irondequoit in the fourth. Cooper Moore led Irondequoit with six goals. After trailing 11-8 heading into the fourth, Canandaigua scored three times to force overtime, where Williamee sealed the victory. Canandaigua will play second-seeded Victor in the final on June 2nd on Tuesday.

Pittsford won a close 11-10 game against Canandaigua in a non-league match at Sutherland. Grant Lewis led Pittsford with four goals, while Patrick Olvany paced Canandaigua with three. Pittsford’s goalie, Bear Wehrheim, recorded nine saves, while junior Peter Roussell won 14 of 22 faceoffs. The series history between the teams is now 9-7 in favor of Pittsford.

Baldwinsville defeated Canandaigua 9-8 in overtime, ending Canandaigua’s perfect season. Baldwinsville rallied from a three-goal deficit late, with senior midfielder Brady Garcia tying the game with five seconds left in regulation. Senior midfielder Ignazio LoMedico secured the win with an outside bounce shot in overtime. Brady Garcia led Baldwinsville with three goals, while Canandaigua’s top scorers included Mike Belles and Ryan Bremer. Goalie John Martoccia made 12 saves for Baldwinsville. Canandaigua will next face Pittsford on May 21st.

Canandaigua defeated Hilton 13-7, keeping its undefeated season intact. Ryan Bremer led Canandaigua with four goals, while Drew Williamee added three. Hilton’s Drew Brien had two goals and three assists. Canandaigua outscored Hilton 6-1 in the final quarter, with goalie Evan Scibelli recording 10 saves and a 59% save percentage. Hilton’s Brendan Maxwell made 13 saves at 50%. Both teams will play again on May Saturday.

Goalie Evan Scibelli recorded two saves with a 100% save rate, and faceoff specialist Peyton Fritz won 18 of 22 draws. Canandaigua will face Hilton next, while Brockport hosts East United-Eastridge.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were thirteen games played mostly in rain today as the regular season starts to unwind and three were close ones. Penfield was a 9-7 winner over Brighton. Hilton defeated Aquinas by a score of 9-7. Canandaigua defeated Pittsford by a score of 7-5. Pal-Mac defeated Gananda to give the Red Raiders a perfect regular season at 16-0.

Hilton and Thomas played a close game until the last quarter when the Cadets took off. CA was a 10-6 winner over Penfield and Marcus Whitman was a 10-7 winner over Gananda.
