McQuaid Jesuit Opens Season with 16-9 Win

MCQUAID JESUIT-16 at CANISIUS-9 - McQuaid Jesuit opened its season with a 16-9 non-league win over Canisius on Saturday at Stransky Complex, building a 10-1 halftime lead before Canisius outscored them 8-6 over the final two quarters.

For McQuaid Jesuit (1-0), junior attackman Dominic Bianchi led with four goals, while junior attackman John Burrows added three goals and four assists and senior midfielder Domenic Giangreco contributed three goals and two assists. Senior Aidan O'Brien added three goals and Joe DiMarco chipped in two. Sophomore midfielder Bryce Pitt scored his first varsity goal. Giangreco also handled faceoffs, going 10-for-13 (77%), and senior Hudson Proia went nine-for-13 (69%) as well. Junior goalie Jackson Paladino stopped 12 shots for a 57% save percentage.
