Valenti's Six Goals Power Pittsford Past Irondequoit
PITTSFORD-20 at IRONDEQUOIT-10 - Pittsford handed Irondequoit its first loss of the season Tuesday afternoon, winning 20-10 in a non-league game at Irondequoit. The Panthers jumped out to a 13-6 halftime lead and pulled away with six more goals in the third quarter. Nine different players scored goals for Pittsford.
For Pittsford (3-0), senior midfielder Avery Valenti led the way with six goals and two assists, while junior Grant Lewis added four goals and three assists and Max Morgenstern chipped in three goals. Trevor Nally contributed two goals and two assists, and Cole Goetz added one goal and three assists. Sophomore Luke Jutzin scored his first varsity goal and senior Doug Blalock recorded his first varsity assist. Freshman Keegan Jacob went 14-for-17 at the faceoff dot (82%), and senior Peter Roussell added eight wins in 13 attempts (62%).
For Irondequoit (2-1), sophomore Kieran Stenzel led with four goals, while senior Cooper Moore added three goals and one assist and senior Colin Giudice contributed two goals. Senior Dylan Carey picked up two assists and Hank Velepec added one goal and one assist. Freshman Nathaniel Reed stopped three shots for a 75% save percentage in 12 minutes of play.
