JD scored three goals in under two minutes in the third quarter to pull ahead, and though Canandaigua pulled within one on Ryan McKeegan's goal with eight seconds left, it was not enough.

For Canandaigua (0-2), senior attackman Patrick Olvany reached 50 career varsity goals, finishing with four goals and three assists to push his total to 53. Ryan McKeegan added two goals, including the final goal with eight seconds remaining, and Marshall Bolster, AJ Sterman, and Landon Mortier each chipped in one goal. Junior Jake Kingston recorded his first varsity assist. Junior Peyton Fritz went 13-for-23 at the faceoff dot (57%), surpassing 100 career faceoff wins in the process with 108 total.
