Pittsford senior attackman Griffin Avery recently announced his decision to stay close to home when he studies and plays lacrosse for Nazareth College next fall.

Nazareth is an NCAA Division III school playing in the Empire Eight Conference. The Golden Flyers won their eighth conference title last year and were 15-5 last year under Head Coach Rob Randall who will start his sixteenth year at the helm this spring.

There are six Section Five alums on the 2016 roster including Dan O`Brien (Penfield), Jonathan Olbrich (Aquinas), Keenan O`Brien (HFL), Brent Mazurkiewicz (Fairport), Michael Cuciti (Canandaigua)and Jason Partridge (R-H).

Avery plans to be majoring in biomedical science and math.
