Fourteen year old Alex Ballatori (Brighton midfielder) and fifteen year old Anthony Merola (Greece attackman) represented the Western New York region for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and were joined by team members from several states, including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, New York and California. Their team was undefeated in the qualifying rounds, was seeded third, and won each of the championship round games to claim the Dicks Sporting Goods National Tournament of Champions title.
