Pittsford goalie, Alex Starr recently announced his commitment to Mercyhurst University Head Coach Chris Ryan. The current junior, with two years on the Panther Varsity, will join a host of Section Five players who have chosen to play for the Lakers.
Last summer, Alex played for the SweetLax Lacrosse Club, playing for them in the Adrenaline Platinum Cup, Long Islands Fest and Crab City Invitational tournaments. He also played in the Maverick Showtime tournament.
Before considering Mercyhurst, Alex considered Tampa, Le Moyne, USMA and Saint Joseph`s University.
Mercyhurst University is an NCAA Division II school, playing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Last season they ended their season with a 12-4 record after winning the conference title and making their fourth straight NCAA appearance.
