Thomas Ready for Competitive Season

Roster Outlook

Thomas enters the 2026 season following a 7-10 campaign and returns just over half of its offensive production. The Titans graduated 14 seniors, a large and experienced group that included attackmen TJ Balch, Cam Chase, and Brandon Trottier; midfielders such as Milo Duran, Brett Mersdorf, Alex Mulcahy, Mason Mylott, Jake Polizzi, and Ben Pangallo; defenders Andrew Chambers, Gavin Lawyer, Colin Wilcox, and Pete Stupplebeen; and goalie Brenden Kuhlenbeck. Several of these graduates earned all-league recognition, leaving significant roles to fill across the field.

Despite the departures, Thomas retains 54% of its goals and 55% of its assists from last season. The roster includes 11 rising seniors, four juniors, and five sophomores, giving the team a strong senior presence supported by younger contributors.

Returning Standouts

Thomas brings back several award-winning players who will anchor the 2026 lineup.

Carter Chase, a 2027 defender committed to Towson, returns after earning All-League First Team Defense (MC-d2) with a 3-goal, 9-assist season. Lucas Estelle, a 2028 attack/midfielder, produced 28 goals and 12 assists and earned All-League Honorable Mention A/M (MC-d2). Jonah Jobson, a 2028 attackman, added 22 goals and 8 assists and earned All-League Honorable Mention Attackmen (MC-d2), a designation reflecting his role as a field player despite the positional label. Jonah is an offensive player who will probably play attack this season. Joshua Jobson, a 2026 goalie committed to SUNY Albany, returns after posting 129 saves with a 49.4% save rate and earning All-League Second Team Goalie (MC-d2). Landon Provenzano, a 2026 defender committed to St. Bonaventure, earned All-League Honorable Mention Defense (MC-d2) and strengthens the back line.

Coaching Information

Thomas continues under Head Coach Rob Ruller, who enters his 24th season leading the program. Ruller holds a 260-142 record at Thomas, matching his overall scholastic mark, and brings extensive experience as a former Fairport player. His long-term leadership provides stability for a roster that blends returning talent with new opportunities. New Assistant Coach, a long-time volunteer in the program, Dennis Costanza, takes over the Defensive Coordinator position as former Coach Jasson Jobson decided to move to JV lacrosse as the Head Coach. Also taking over for the roles of volunteer assistants will be former Thomas Lacrosse Alum Cj Battaglia and former Geneva Alum Anthony Marcuccilli. "We are excited to get on this journey together," says Coach Ruller.

Statistical Overview

Thomas scored 188 goals last season, averaging 11.1 per game, while allowing 152 goals at an average of 8.9. Ten games were decided by five goals or fewer, including one one-goal win and one one-goal loss. With more than half of its scoring returning and several all-league players back, the Titans enter 2026 with a solid statistical base.

Games This Year

The 2026 schedule includes several MC2 league matchups. League games are set against Pittsford (03/24), Brighton (04/10), Schroeder (04/21), and Victor (05/05). Other contests include non-league meetings with Hilton, Aquinas, Baldwinsville, Penn Yan, Rush-Henrietta, Orchard Park, McQuaid Jesuit, Hamburg, Penfield, and Spencerport, and Fairport

Looking Ahead

With experienced defenders, returning scoring options, and a veteran coach entering his 24th season, Thomas approaches 2026 with a balanced mix of leadership and opportunity. The combination of returning production and established coaching provides a strong foundation as the Titans look to compete within Class B. Coach Ruller says, "We are looking to getting back to competing on a daily basis, and making this community proud of the product on the field."
