Last Quarter Give Eagles the Win

SCHROEDER-11 at IRONDEQUOIT-12 in a Monroe County D-2 game - 

Irondequoit held off Schroeder 12-11 Thursday evening in a tight Monroe County Division-2 contest that wasn't decided until the final quarter. The Eagles trailed or were tied through much of the game, with the score knotted at six after two quarters before Schroeder edged ahead 8-7 after three. Irondequoit outscored the Warriors 4-3 in the fourth to secure the win and their sixth straight victory over Schroeder, extending a series edge that now stands at 24-9.

Sophomore attackman Kieran Stenzel and senior Cooper Moore each posted four goals to lead Irondequoit (1-0), while senior Dylan Carey added one goal and three assists. Seniors Colin Giudice chipped in one goal and one assist, and Cristian Freeeman recorded his first varsity assist.

For Schroeder (0-2), sophomore Kai Nelson, scoring his first varsity goal and first varsity assist, finished with two goals and two assists. Junior JD Stockmann contributed one goal and three assists, while junior Jonny May and freshman Owen Martin each added two goals. Junior defensive midfielder Brady Mason also scored his first varsity goal, finishing with two goals and  Junior John Caricati went 18-for-23 at the face-off X, a 78% win. In net, Van Bolton stopped 15 shots over 48 minutes for a 56% save rate.
