Pittsford Pulls Away From Hilton
HILTON-7 at PITTSFORD-15 - Pittsford built an early advantage Thursday evening and held on for a 15-7 non-league win over Hilton at Sutherland. The Panthers scored three goals in under two minutes starting at 8:19 of the first quarter to grab control early, then rattled off a run of five straight goals during the game to put it out of reach. Pittsford improved to 2-0 while Hilton dropped to 2-1. No statistical report from Pittsford was available at post-time, but scoring data was provided by Hilton.
Based on the scoring table, Pittsford's leading contributors included junior Jahyden Maiorani with three goals, Max Morgenstern with three goals, Avery Valenti with two goals, and Grant Lewis with two goals.
For Hilton (2-1), junior Tyler Reger led with two goals and one assist. Sophomore Cahlan Smith added one goal and one assist, and junior Michael Charella opened the scoring with one goal. Anthony Mitrano, Kyle Taddeo, and junior defenseman Logan Cady, scoring his first varsity goal, each added one goal. Sophomore goalie Brendan Maxwell was perfect in net for Hilton, stopping all 13 shots he faced over 48 minutes for a 100% save rate.
Pittsford travels to Irondequoit on a Tuesday afternoon next week, while Hilton hosts Schroeder on that same Tuesday evening.
