DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - The standout performance came from Penn Yan, which opened its season with a 19-2 win over Homer behind five goals and three assists from Braden Fingar, four goals from Miles Ditzell, and a perfect 13-for-13 faceoff showing from Greyson Hathway. Freshman Logan Sprague scored his first varsity goal and added his first varsity assist in the same game. Orchard Park handed Fairport its second loss 13-6, with Fairport getting first varsity points from Marco Provenzano, CJ Trumble, and Grant Ralston. Canisius rallied from a 6-1 first-quarter deficit to edge Rush-Henrietta 10-9 in what was the day's closest finish.

FAIRPORT-6 at ORCHARD PARK-13 - Orchard Park topped Fairport 13-6 Monday night in a non-league game, building a 5-2 first-quarter lead and outscoring the Red Raiders 8-4 the rest of the way. Fairport falls to 0-2 on the young season.

For Fairport (0-2), sophomore midfielder Marco Provenzano led with two goals, while senior attackman Jack Gosiewski and freshman midfielder CJ Trumble each added a goal and an assist. Senior attackman Ryan Priddy and senior faceoff midfielder Corey Roeser each chipped in a goal. Three players earned their first varsity points: Provenzano scored his first varsity goal, and both Trumble and sophomore attackman Grant Ralston recorded their first varsity assists. Roeser went eight-for-11 at the faceoff dot (73%), and junior Cameron Miller added a perfect one-for-one showing. HOMER-2 at PENN YAN-19 - Penn Yan opened its season with a 19-2 non-league win over Homer on Monday afternoon, scoring eight goals in the first quarter and holding Homer to one goal over the middle two quarters. Nine different players scored goals for the Mustangs.
