Maiorani's Three Goals Keep Pittsford Unbeaten
PITTSFORD-12 at PENFIELD-5 - Pittsford stayed unbeaten with a 12-5 non-league win at Penfield on Wednesday evening, taking a 7-2 lead after the first quarter and building from there. The win gives Pittsford five straight over Penfield in a series that stands at 18-17 all-time in Penfield's favor.
For Pittsford (6-0), junior Jahyden Maiorani led with three goals, while junior Jack Healy, junior Grant Lewis, junior Trevor Nally, and junior Cole Goetz each added two goals. Goetz also picked up one assist, and junior Charles Hezel recorded two assists, earning his first varsity assist in the process. Freshman Keegan Jacob went 11-for-16 at the faceoff dot (69%), surpassing 100 career faceoff wins with 107 total. Freshman Bear Wehrheim stopped eight shots for a 62% save percentage in 48 minutes.
For Penfield (2-3), senior Brodie Joyce led with two goals, while junior Harrison Easton and junior Jake Maurer each added one goal and one assist, and junior Griffin Banister chipped in one goal. Senior Mason Schembri kept Penfield in the game, stopping 17 shots for a 59% save percentage in 48 minutes.
