Landschoot and Sprague Lead Midlakes
CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-6 at MIDLAKES-11 - Midlakes picked up its first win of the season with an 11-6 non-league victory over Churchville-Chili on Wednesday evening at home, building a 5-3 halftime lead and outscoring the Saints 6-3 over the final two quarters.
For Midlakes (1-0), freshman Walker Landschoot and junior James Sprague each led with three goals, with Landschoot adding two assists and Sprague one. Senior Nate Lathrop contributed two goals and one assist. Freshman Greyson Lathrop and eighth-grader Miles Kornbau each scored their first varsity goals. Senior Stuart Quku stopped 11 shots for a 65% save percentage in goal.
For Churchville-Chili (1-4), senior Jaxon Leonard led with three goals, while senior Jack Sloan, sophomore Cooper Lass, and Brayden O'Mara each added one goal. Sophomore Patrick Callahan contributed two assists, and eighth-grader David Donaghue picked up his first varsity assist. Senior Isaac Bailey went 11-for-18 at the faceoff dot (61%). Junior goalie Kaiden Leiston reached 100 career saves, stopping seven shots to push his total to 106.
