Canandaigua Uses 13 Different Scorers for Win

GATES CHILI-1 at CANANDAIGUA-18 - Canandaigua picked up an 18-1 Monroe County D-3 win over Gates Chili on Tuesday evening, scoring 10 goals in the first quarter and holding the Spartans to one goal the rest of the way. Thirteen different players scored for the Braves, who extend their all-time record against Gates Chili to seven-for-seven since 2010.

For Canandaigua (3-4), junior Ryan McKeegan led with two goals and four assists, while freshman Joel Lloyd, junior Landon Mortier, junior Jake Kingston, and junior Christian Schuessler each added two goals. Senior Patrick Olvany, junior AJ Sterman, and junior Kyle Farrington each chipped in one goal and one assist. First varsity goals went to Schuessler, senior Jack Dedrick, and junior Brady Ross, and first varsity assists went to junior Peyton Fritz and senior Shane Cooke. Canandaigua's faceoff group combined to win all 18 of their attempts, with junior George Mirras going eight-for-eight (100%). Senior Quentin Shedrick and junior Lucas Wyland combined to stop four shots for a perfect afternoon in goal.

For Gates Chili (0-5), sophomore Colin Mancuso scored the team's only goal, with senior Callaway Phommachanh picking up the assist.
