The Section V Lacrosse leadership has selected first, second and honorable mention lists of All-Section players. The 2026 first team lists sixteen players and includes the six All-Americans previously announced. "The first six athletes on the first team are easy" said Section Five Assistant Coordinator, Paul Wilson. "After that, it becomes more difficult as we have so many excellent players. With the six first spots taken, there were only ten more places on the first team."

Colin Wheeler's four goals, including two in a decisive five-goal fourth quarter, carried Victor past Hilton 8-6 in a back-and-forth Class B semifinal that featured three ties before the Blue Devils pulled away. The will face Pittsford in the finals on Saturday

There were thirty-four games played last week. There were seventy-nine out of section games scheduled this year. Section V teams won 50 and lost 29 (63% wins). There is only one undefeated team at this point: Pittsford with a record of 17-0.

Cahlan Smith's milestone 50th career goal, Drew Brien's milestone 50th career assist, Tyler Reger's three goals and five assists, and coach Tim Byrnes' 50th win at Hilton highlighted a 13-6 Class B quarterfinal victory over Brighton.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Milestones dominated Saturday's action. Pittsford stayed perfect at 17-0 behind Grant Lewis' eight goals, Penn Yan blanked Mynderse-Romulus 18-0 as Tukker Fisher reached 100 career assists, and Geneva's Ryland Dunham scored nine goals for his 200th career tally in a 22-0 shutout of Batavia-Notre Dame. 

Senior Aidan O'Brien scored the overtime winner Monday night as McQuaid Jesuit defeated Hilton 8-7, with John Burrows and Dominic Camarella each contributing two goals and two assists, while Hilton's Drew Brien reached his 50th career assist in the loss.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - Today four non-league games produced a pair of tight finishes and several standout performances.

In our seventh group we have two seniors, a freshman and a sophomore who had noteworthy performances in the last week.

Tyler Reger and Cahlan Smith each scored three goals as Hilton beat Penfield 12-6 Tuesday evening to extend its winning streak to ten, while Penfield's Brodie Joyce became the program's all-time leading goal scorer with his 137th career goal.

Drew Brien scored four goals to reach 50 career goals and Hilton rallied from three goals down in the fourth quarter to beat West Genesee 11-10 in overtime Saturday morning, extending the Cadets' winning streak to nine.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Saturday was defined by career milestones across the area. Bloomfield-Honeoye's Brayden Arber set a school record forcareer goals with 11 goals in an 18-3 win over Tonawanda.

Tyler Reger and Drew Brien each scored three goals as Hilton beat Fairport 13-5 Wednesday evening to extend its winning streak to eight, while both Lucas Grizzanti of Hilton and Ryan Knapp of Fairport each reached 100 career faceoff wins.

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - The day's biggest story was Pittsford's last-second 13-12 win over Victor, with Grant Lewis scoring with eight seconds left to keep the Panthers perfect at 11-0.

Hilton picked up a Monroe County D-1 win over Rush-Henrietta on Friday evening at home.

Friday's biggest story was Thomas ending Brighton's unbeaten season with a 12-7 Monroe County D-2 win.

Boys lacrosse action featured milestones at both ends of the state.

Hilton opened its Monroe County D-1 season with a 25-2 win over Greece Storm on Tuesday, March 24, at Arcadia High School.

There were seven games played today highlighted by Penfield's Brodie Joyce breaking his school's 20-year scoring record with eight goals in a win over Fairport.

Hilton opened its season with a 10-7 non-league win over Thomas on Thursday to start the 2026 sccholastic lacrosse season.

Hilton enters the 2026 season following a 12_5 campaign and returns a significant portion of its offensive and defensive production. The Cadets graduated 11 seniors, a group that included contributors across every position. 

Hilton and Victor battled in a close non-league game, with Victor winning 8-6. Hilton led at halftime but Victor’s four-goal third quarter turned the game. Leading scorers included Hilton’s Auriuso (two goals) and Victor’s Mead (three goals). Faceoff specialist Ricci controlled possession for Victor, and Hilton’s Maxwell recorded 20 saves.

Hilton secured a 13-11 win over Spencerport in a non-league contest, led by Braydon Pike’s four goals and two assists. Spencerport’s top performers included Zachary Ajavananda and Zach Tortora, each with three goals and two assists. Hilton’s Drew O’Buck controlled the face-offs, winning 21 of 26. In goal, Spencerport’s Zach Miceli posted an impressive 92% save rate over 24 minutes. Spencerport will next host Greece Storm, while Hilton will take on Victor in their upcoming match.

Hilton defeated Pittsford 11-10 in a close league game, with strong performances from Gianluca Auriuso and Nicholas Presutti. Pittsford's Charlie Ryan led his team with two goals and two assists, while freshman goalie Brendan Maxwell reached his 100th save. Hilton’s Drew O’Buck won his 500th faceoff, helping his team secure the win.

Canandaigua defeated Hilton 13-7, keeping its undefeated season intact. Ryan Bremer led Canandaigua with four goals, while Drew Williamee added three. Hilton’s Drew Brien had two goals and three assists. Canandaigua outscored Hilton 6-1 in the final quarter, with goalie Evan Scibelli recording 10 saves and a 59% save percentage. Hilton’s Brendan Maxwell made 13 saves at 50%. Both teams will play again on May Saturday.

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - Eleven games were played today, with two coming down to the wire. Wayne edged out Livonia-Avon-Geneseo 14-13, with Mason Michel delivering an outstanding seven-goal performance, while teammate Tas Strickland hit his career milestone with his 100th goal. Watkins Glen secured a tight 14-12 victory against Haverling after pulling ahead in the third quarter and holding on down the stretch. Across the rest of the day's matchups, dominant wins were recorded by teams like Victor, McQuaid Jesuit, and Brockport, while Canandaigua maintained its undefeated season with a 13-7 victory over Hilton. 

Fairport defeated Hilton 9-4 in a league matchup, pulling away in the second half after a 3-3 first-quarter tie. Mitchell Monte led Fairport with three goals and two assists, and goalie Luke Ryan recorded 14 saves with a 78% save rate. Hilton’s Braydon Pike scored twice, and Brendan Maxwell made seven saves in net.

There were forty-five games played last week. There are seventy-three out of section games scheduled and 39 have been played. Section V teams have won 27 and lost 12 (69% wins). There are four undefeated teams at this point: Bloomfield-Honeoye (6-0), Canandaigua (8-0), Pal-Mac (8-0), and Pittsford (7-0).

Hilton defeated McQuaid Jesuit 12-6 in a non-league game on Saturday, with standout performances from Gianluca Auriuso (3g-2a) and Braydon Pike (3g). Freshman goalie Brendan Maxwell posted a 65% save rate with 11 saves. McQuaid's AJ Quagrello led his team with one goal and two assists, while senior Jack Rawleigh made 22 saves at 65% in net. Hilton, now 8-1, faces East United-Eastridge next, as McQuaid (6-3) prepares for St. Joseph's.

Hilton built an early lead in their 15-13 victory over Rush-Henrietta, with standout performances from Drew Brien (four goals, one assist) and Gianluca Auriuso (three goals). Rush-Henrietta surged in the fourth quarter but couldn’t overcome Hilton’s advantage. Brendan Maxwell posted a 67% save rate, while Sam Guzzetta recorded his 100th career save. Hilton’s strong faceoff performance from Drew O’Buck contributed to their seventh straight win.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Tuesday featured 16 games, with three thrilling matchups going down to the wire. Hilton held off a late push from Rush-Henrietta for a 15-13 victory, aided by Drew Brien’s four-goal effort and a strong faceoff performance from Drew O’Buck. Canandaigua edged out Spencerport 13-12 in a hard-fought battle, marking Coach Deven York’s 100th career win. Irondequoit narrowly topped Thomas 9-8 behind Kieran Stenzel’s hat trick. The remaining games saw several dominant performances, including Pittsford extending their undefeated run, McQuaid Jesuit’s commanding win, and Pal-Mac keeping their perfect record intact at 7-0.

Hilton defeated Horseheads 12-3, with Cahlan Smith leading scoring efforts. Sam Guzzetta and Brendan Maxwell combined for strong goalkeeping performances. Hilton extended their winning streak to six games.

Hilton secured a commanding 15-1 victory over Greece Storm, led by standout players Gianluca Auriuso (four goals) and Drew Brien (three goals). Brendan Maxwell and Sam Guzzetta provided strong goaltending performances for Hilton, maintaining their perfect record against Greece Storm since 2018. James Maccallini scored Greece Storm’s only goal, with Eric Odell excelling in face-offs (67 percent). Hilton improves to a 4-1 record.

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - Today`s lacrosse highlights showcased dominant victories across various matchups. Hilton overwhelmed Greece Storm 15-1 with standout performances from Gianluca Auriuso and Drew Brien. HFL triumphed 15-8 over Churchville-Chili, thanks to Grady Goodberlet`s six goals.

Hilton claimed a 9-8 overtime victory against Irondequoit, thanks to Gianluca Auriuso`s decisive performance with two goals and one assist. Brendan Maxwell shined in goal with a 70% save rate over fifty-two minutes, while Irondequoit’s Cooper Moore led his team with three goals.

Hilton overcame Penfield with an 8-6 win in their MC-D1 league matchup. Leading scorers included Hilton's Tyler Reger with five goals and Penfield's AJ Theodorakakos and Jake Maurer with two goals each. Both goalies, Mason Schembri (Penfield) and Brendan Maxwell (Hilton), posted 60% save rates. It was the 25th win for Head Coach Tim Byrnes.

Marcellus outlasted Hilton 10-9 in a closely fought non-league game. Marcellus`s Chris Doshna led all scorers with five goals, while Hilton`s Anthony Mitrano recorded three goals and Gianluca Auriuso added two goals and three assists. Freshman Drew Brien scored his first Varsity goal for Hilton.
