Penn Yan was the single Section Five winner in the Western Regionals of the New York State Tournament with a 8-4 win over Section VI Class C Champion, Gowanda on Thursday night at Canisius College in Buffalo. The Mustangs used their "Penn Yan run" in the second quarter to score as four different players scored within a minute and a half to take a 6-1 lead.

 At the end of regular season Canandaigua was the only undefeated team left after Penfield lost to Pittsford in their last scheduled game. CA won the class A championship 10-7 over Penfield while in class B, Brighton won it's first sectional title in lacrosse with a 6-5 win over Victor. Penn Yan won another class C title, but this time with first year Head Coach, Brian Hobart. Full Story |
