The Braves and Blue Devils split the first half with each team scoring two goals in one quarter while holding their opponent scoreless. Canandaigua scored the goals in the first quarter. Neither team scored for 11 minutes, until Casey Herod scored with 0:56 remaining. Herod’s first goal was scored during extra-man offense with an assist from Mark Belles. Both Herod and Belles were named to the All Tournament Team. With time expiring, Herod scored his second goal with an outside shot from the right flat. In the second quarter, the situation was reversed with Victor scoring two goals and Canandaigua being held scoreless. Victor scored their first 0:50 into the quarter with a loose ball on the crease being grabbed by Jack LaRue. LaRue was demonstrative for the Blue Devils and was named the All Tournament MVP for Class B. He finished with 2g-1a. The second goal was scored with 4:30 left on the clock with an underhanded goal on the crease by TJ Brei with an assist coming from Alec Russell. The game tied at 2-2 going into the halftime break.
In the third quarter, the even play continued with both teams added two goals. Canandaigua started off the scoring with a drive from Belles. He drove to the cage and was denied by the Victor defense. He doubled back with a second dodge and finished close to the crease. Less than a minute later, Victor scored with an inside feed from LaRue to Brei. Brei finished the game with 2g and was named to the All Tournament Team. Victor took their first lead of the game with an unassisted goal by LaRue. The Blue Devils held on for another five minutes before the Braves tied the game for the third time. With 0:43 remaining in the third, Herod assisted Aaron D’Agostino. The game was still tied 4-4 after 36 minutes.
With 6:35 left in the game, Canandaigua scored their final goal to put them up by two (6-4). D’Agostino scored on a fast-break after a broken clear with an assist from Mitch Pfeiffer. Victor pulled within one with 5:36 remaining with a feed from behind the cage by Camden Hay to Alec Russell. The Braves slowed down the game and held the one goal lead going into under a minute remaining. The tying goal was scored by Russell from a fast-break with 0:41 left on the clock. The game winner was only 9 seconds later with a face-off fast-break. Regan Endres picked up the ball from the draw and forced it quickly upfield to Shea Newell for the game winner with 0:32 remaining. The Blue Devils held off the final thirty seconds to secure the win.
