Canandaigua Lacrosse and brand new Head Coach Deven York received a great honor recently when it was announced that the Braves won a bid and will be an expansion site for the Shootout for Soldiers next summer. More than eighty applications for the expansion were filed and Canandaigua was among the four that were accepted.

The twenty-four hour event will see twenty four, one hour games at the new stadium field at Canandaigua Academy on July 22-23.

Last year the organization raised $460,000 as ten thousand athletes played before sixty thousand fans spread throughout the various venues.

Proceeds benefit one designated charity for each branch of the military. They are Team Red White & Blue, Army Ranger Lead the Way, Semper Fi Fund and the Gary Sinise Foundation.
