Brodie Joyce scored three goals and added three assists and Griffin Banister added three goals as Penfield beat Canandaigua 14-9 Friday evening to extend its winning streak to eight games, with Kyle Farrington scoring three goals in a losing effort for the Grey Wolves.

Griffin Banister scored four goals, Will Taddeo went a perfect 14 for 14 on faceoffs and scored his first career varsity goal, and nine different players found the net as Penfield beat Rush-Henrietta 14-2 Wednesday evening to extend its winning streak to seven.

Penfield won 17-2 Tuesday evening behind Banister's 50th career goal.

Penfield picked up a Monroe County D-1 win at East United-Eastridge on Friday evening.

Friday's biggest story was Thomas ending Brighton's unbeaten season with a 12-7 Monroe County D-2 win.

Penfield enters the 2026 season following a 13_8 campaign and returns one of the largest and most productive cores in Section V. The Patriots graduated eight seniors, including defenders Braydon Albro, Noah Banister, and Casey Henderson, along with offensive contributors such as Michael Moxley,Tommy Obstarczyk, and Bryce Perry.

Penfield defeated Fairport 10-7 in the Section 5 semifinal, with Griffin Banister leading the team with four goals and one assist. Jake Maurer added three goals, while Brodie Joyce, Manny Castro, and Harrison Easton each scored once. Goalie Mason Schembri made 10 saves with a 59% save percentage, and Colin Miller won 11 faceoffs. Penfield will play McQuaid Jesuit in the Class Finals on June 3rd.

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Six games were played today, with Bloomfield-Honeoye’s thrilling 12-11 win over Midlakes standing out as the closest battle. Brennan Thomas sealed the victory with a game-winning goal just five seconds before the final whistle. Meanwhile, McQuaid Jesuit, Penfield, Penn Yan, Pal-Mac, and HFL secured decisive wins, solidifying their spots in their respective championship matchups. With the stage set for the finals, these teams are ready for the final showdown.

Victor claimed a 17-9 victory over Penfield, with Dante Pezzimenti leading their offense with four goals and one assist. Penfield's Brodie Joyce contributed two goals and two assists in the effort. Victor’s goalie Will Simpson recorded ten saves at 56 percent, while Penfield’s Mason Schembri made 12 saves in the contest.

Penfield won 12-8 against Rush-Henrietta on Tuesday, strengthening their record to 7-5. Penfield had a strong first half, led by Brodie Joyce and Griffin Banister, who each scored three goals. The team’s goalie, Mason Schembri, recorded 13 saves with a 62% save percentage. Rush-Henrietta scored four goals in the final quarter but could not close the gap. They will play McQuaid Jesuit next, while Penfield will host Victor.

Penfield earned an 8-4 victory over Thomas in a non-league lacrosse game, marking their first win of the season. Manny Castro led Penfield with three goals, and goalie Mason Schembri recorded twenty-one saves with an eighty-four percent save rate. Jake Polizzi scored three goals for Thomas, while goalie Joshua Jobson posted a fifty-six percent save rate.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Seven lacrosse games took place, with three being particularly close and thrilling.Fairport narrowly defeated McQuaid Jesuit 7-6, led by Mitchell Monte’s six-goal performance, while McQuaid's AJ Quagrello and John Burrows shone in a hard-fought match. Brighton secured a 5-3 victory over Westhill, with Gavin Parks scoring twice and goalie Logan Serve excelling with a 73% save rate. Nichols rallied from a 6-1 deficit to edge Aquinas 14-12, thanks to a strong team effort and six final-quarter goals. Other results included Penfield’s 8-4 win over Thomas, Penn Yan’s commanding 19-3 triumph over Cortland, Canandaigua’s 18-15 win against Jamesville-DeWitt, and Horseheads’ 12-4 victory over Rush-Henrietta. 

West Genesee defeated Penfield 12-9 in a non-league lacrosse match. Leading scorers included Nash Oudemool for West Genesee with four goals and Brodie Joyce for Penfield with two goals and three assists. Goalie Mason Schembri recorded sixteen saves at a 57 percent rate for Penfield, while Jonathan Shoults made ten saves for West Genesee. Penfield will next host Thomas on April 15.

Fairport secured an 8-5 win over Penfield in an MC-D1 league game at home, with no report available from Fairport. Penfield saw contributions from scorers Joyce, Banister, Castro, Theodorakakos, and Pavone, along with strong efforts by junior goalie Mason Schembri and face-off specialist Colin Miller. Both teams look ahead to their next matchups against West Genesee.
